Broadband speed comparison between Sky and BT

BT claim my speed is good. This video proves it isn't.
Even on a dodgey wireless connection through two walls to the house next door, Sky broadband is twice as fast as BT.

On download test of a 100MB server back up file from a server I own and no one else uses I get 1.7MB/s from Sky. On BT it is less than 700kb/s (that's 0.7MB/s)

My Friend was on BT and was getting 0.9MB/s and then he went on Sky and got 3.5MB/s LOL :O im going on sky soon :) cant wait, also BT cap your speeds which makes them even shitter lol

@MitchAndSammyDriftz yep! it's something I've been hearing from a lot of people. BT used to be the 'go to' guys when it came to reliability and service but now they're worse than the rest.

Foreign call centres where staff fob you off and can only recite scripts, local call centres that take over an hour to respond and products that don't live up to their claims.

It makes it worse that you're locked in for so long with absolutely no hope of resolution other than waiting out the contract :(

@teamplaylotto i also know that my friend is on SKY 20mb broadband and lives just round the corner and he receives 1-2mb/s on his torrents where as i have 20mb BT broadband and am lucky to reach 500kb/s :/

@MitchAndSammyDriftz yep that's my problem. the house next door has sky which downloads torrents at 1.7mb/s but the same torrents with BT go at a max of 600kb/s .

it's ridiculous!! I recommend Sky over BT to everyone now

SKY IS SHIT i was with BT getting 2 mbs now im getting barely 1 with sky

I'm using O2 broadband at the moment and scored 14mb/s. The wired ethernet connection helps too, but their service is quite adequate. (more than I can say for their mobile phone service!)

virgin is the only good internet. i use to have virgin and got download speeds of 1mbps and from sky i get 300kbps

@teamplaylotto well the main downside of BT is that they cap ur speeds at certain times of the day depending on how many people are online, its absolutely ridiculous. if u want a fast and reliable ISP. go to bethere.co.uk ! THEY ARE Fantastic

i have seen another video on youtube looking at the difference between BT and BE and u know what? BE was faster by like 10mb/s its ridiculous.

Well could u tell me if sky is better than BT because im hoping it is.
