Here's our round-the-world trip from 23 August 2004 to 4 May 2005. In three books. 254 days. 9 and a half months. From Singapore to Russia, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Britain, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, USA, Japan, and back to Singapore. Some countries we travelled extensively, while others just a city or two.

These travelogues were written, sketched, cut, pasted and created day-by-day during the journey. Some days were a easy, some days were hours of hard work, and some days I just wanted to sleep. It wasn't all fun having to write everyday, but it opens up a flood of sweet memories whenever I flip through these journals.

  • Thanks. Sorry, I don't have the journals' pages up close in a blog.

  • Hi Marta,

Thanks for liking them. I also love brown paper as it look good whether with black or white ink. My journals here were all custom-made. I always go to an art paper shop, choose the paper and texture, test it with markers of different colours, cut the paper into size, and bind them into journals. That way I can also gauge the number of pages I need and buy accordingly. Hope this helps.

    Cheers, Muk.

  • wow wow wow! Do you have pics of these on a blog? I would love to see some of (or all rather lol) the pages up close.

  • Your journals are so beautiful and inspiring. I've been all over the internet looking for a sketchbook with brown paper. Do you mind sharing what kind they are?
