How could Americans not fell sorry because their own state was completely demolished
Just to clarify, if any of you have talked to a victim of Hurricane Katrina, they will all tell you that yes, they received warning that a hurricane was in the area. Most southerners receive many warnings of hurricanes each year and to evacuate each time you hear one is not only difficult but impracticable. Hurricane Katrina never hit New Orleans. What destroyed New Orleans and what people were NOT prepared for, or warned about, was the levee breach. A breach that could have been prevented.

@Nicoletta8989 But to not take care of the people in your OWN country... maybe they didn't have enough oil for Bush to care.

@MacDaddyssf I totally agree with you- and that is why there was such outrage over the handling of the aftermath.

@Nicoletta8989 R u stupid? Im 4rm New Orleans n I lived threw the Hurricane. It was the hurricane and levees. But mainly the hurricane. What do u mean it never hit?

@jultaylor1 What I mean by "never hit" is that the center of the storm was never directly over New Orleans. If you look at maps of the path of Katrina you can see what I mean. No doubt there was damage from the hurricane passing close to New Orleans but the damage and the lives loss was from all the flooding which was caused by the levees breaking- not the hurricane hitting the levees and then breaking.
