Fondant Babies

This video shows my latest baby that I made for a friend who has had triplets. So I have an excuse to make a cake.I have just started playing with Fondant and absolutly love the versatility. I have the Celebrate with Fondant book from Wilton and saw the babies in there and thought I would try it out. Hope you like them. This video also show the first figure I ever made for a running cake I was making for another firend.( the other video).

Did you add gumpaste to these or are they all fondant? And If Not When they dried did they crack or anything?

These were all fondant it was before I was familiar with gumpaste. The fondant I used was a store bought fondant and it did crack a little but not bad I think it was DAWN brand fondant. It was a little stiffer fondant than the other baby I recently made a video for, Different brand. I have found that straight Gumpaste can be harder to work with. I have also used Fondant and added Tylose (CMC)powder a little at a time. Hope this helps. Happy Caking!!

Hi there thanks for the question.

 I use the Wilton Paste color "copper" and just a little at a time otherwise it goes really orange
