Kef XQ20 + Arcam A90 - Eric Clapton - Change The World
A lot of people tend to review these speakers and say that they are bright sounding. Others without listening to these speakers properly jump on the same band wagon and agree with the 1st group; well let me tell you, I upgraded from a full B&W CM set up (CM4 & CM2) to these and it was definitely an upgrade.
These speakers need to be powered through a warm sounding set up to be fully appreciated.
I initially ran these with a Rotel set up but when I changed to the Arcam arrangement I got a lot more detail and also a lot more detailed sound.
I can honestly say that you'd struggle to find better sounding and looking speakers for the same price!
Enjoy.

Bright as in an amp that emphasises the high notes more than the other notes.

To get the best out of the XQ20s they need to be matched with other components very well and to get the best detail out of them, they need to be driven by a lot of power.

Q300s are really good speakers, specially for the price.

Another Good contender in that price range is the B&W 685. They do sound very sweet and are not very fussy at all!

    Thanks

sorry, what do you mean by "bright" sounding amplifier?

by the way what hifi's recomendation for my system is KEF Q300

    thanks

  • @konczyke Hi there, I would say that you need a lot of power to get a good sound out of the XQ20s.

I have read a lot of good things about your speakers and amp, but just a word of advise, if your amp is a bright sounding amp, I would stay away from XQ20s.

    I hope this helps you.

hello there, I adore the look of these KEF speakers and I intend to upgrade from my wharfedale emerald, they are great I think, but recently have changed my old technics system to a new Marantz PM6004 with CD6004, what do you think worth the upgrade???

    many thank & kind regards...

  • Essas caixas são do caralho hein!!!

  • YouTube does it automatically as long as you put the name of the artist and the song title in your description

  • I'm curious how you are able to use Copyrighted music? I notice many people do, and the ones that get away with it usually have a link to the song on the lower right just below the video. I'm thinking of making some videos of my stereo system, and wonder if you put that link to the music there, or does YouTube automatically place it?

Sorry, don't know who else to ask.

    Thank you for your comment.

I am a little pushed for space unfortunately but will be moving home pretty soon so will be keeping the speakers away from walls & will probably Bi Amp them ;)

The wide angle lens does make the space seem a bit bigger than it is as well ;)

    I filmed this with my Canon DSLR & a 17-40mm lens. I used an Audio-Technica Pro24-CMF mic.
