Bill Hybels has often gotten an undesrved bad rap. He is a faithful preacher of the Word.

i attended willow creek for 5 years. i now attend a church that is very different but i can say without a doubt that THE biggest thing i still have in my head going as a believer ina young stage is that, the gospel has to be core, there is no way around it, you must open it. in addition his emphasis on community groups is the biggest reason i joined my first one after i left illinois.

It's been at least 15 years since I attended Willow Creek. I never thought to look for it on you tube lol. After viewing several you tube videos of his teachings and the videos attacking what he does I have only two comments. Hybels has not changed in his striving to serve the Lord in his teaching. The Devil will always strike out at those who are doing him the most harm.

@ pockmarked...Willow has admitted to making some mistakes in regards to the "seeker sensitive model" nonsense. They have released a whole book on it called "Reveal". I think Willow has made a seismic shift towards more feeding, and less amusing.

From the start, this church has been about bringing the bible to those that would normally never go to church. Amusing goats? No.

I started attending the church in the early 80's... The drive and message has always stayed the same. "You matter to God" and what that means for you and your life. Whether it is 10 people or 20,000 people, this message needs to be heard.

II attended church at Willow Creek Theater in the70s where Bill Hybels started his ministry. I have since grown in my christian faith, in part due to his influence. When I return to Chicago, I do get back to Willow. Despite its huge growth, the message I receive now is still the same: one of spiritual reflection&growth, a personal message and one that calls me to do more with my faith. For me, Willow Creek is as alive today in message and purpose as it was when I first attended thirty years ago.

Bill is a true man of God! His aura radiates fare beyond America: I live in Belgium and we have already watched several of his messages during the meetings of my christian youth group!

I will check it out
So Bill is NOT tryin' to make the Church all fun and silly for non-Christians to enjoy? Is he actually feeding sheep or is he still amusing goats? Seriously, I would like to know...

if you've got seven minutes, you might check out "Bill Hybels responds to misinformation about Willow Creek" which should show up in the "Related Videos" column on the right.
