Rwanda School in a Box

Thousands of Rwanda's children lost family members, were orphaned and/or displaced, and experienced trauma brought on by the violence and killings they witnessed firsthand during the 1994 civil unrest.

In order to aid their recovery and help restore a sense of normal life, UNICEF collaborated with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in distributing a Teacher's Education Pack or "School- in-a-Box" to allow children to resume their education and begin the healing process.
