4. 421 Broome Street: a tribute to Heath Ledger

Je connaissais le nom de Heath Ledger (1979-2008) avant sa mort, mais c'est cette mort -- le jour de mon anniversaire -- qui m'a d'abord interpellé. J'attendais The Dark Knight avec impatience et j'avais été impressionné par sa présence dans la première bande-annonce. J'ai vu TDK quelques semaines après sa sortie : deux fois en deux jours, en fait, notamment à cause de sa performance. Depuis, j'ai vu dautres performances de Ledger, dont son tout dernier rôle, dans l'excellent L'imaginarium du Docteur Parnassus, de Terry Gilliam... voici quelques images tournées le 20 février 2010 près de son dernier appartement, au 421 Broome Street dans le quartier SoHo à New York. La trame sonore est tirée du Requiem de Mozart et des extraits de ses deux derniers rôles.

I knew Heath Ledger (1979-2008) by name before his death, but it's that death -- on my birthday, no less -- that drew me to his work. I was waiting impatiently for The Dark Knight and I'd been impressed by his presence in the first few trailers. I saw TDK a few weeks after its initial release : twice in two days, in fact, in large part due to his electrifying performance. Since then, I've seen some other movies in which he acted, including his very last role in Terry Gilliams excellent The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus... here are a few images shot on February 20, 2010 near his last apartment, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, New York. The soundtrack ties Mozart's Requiem and lines from his last two roles.

merci pour cette vidéo, c'est très émouvant de la regarder, je me pose la question à savoir si des gens continuent de déposer des fleurs le jour de sa mort où si il est déjà oublié dans leur esprit.

Je ne peux malheureusement pas répondre à votre question... il est très probable que le premier anniversaire a été souligné au 421 Broome st., surtout que sa nomination aux Oscars pour Dark Knight a été annoncée le même jour, mais je ne peux en être sûr (même chose pour le deuxième anniversaire).

Thank you. :) I tried to keep a low profile and not draw too much attention, but the fact that I went there a full two years after Heath's unfortunate death probably helped me get these images without being chased off.
