Blurb believes passionately in the joy of books. Blurb CEO Eileen Gittins explains that self-publishing is an affordable and attainable goal. Holding a finished book with your name on the cover is a truly amazing feeling. Blurb developed a creative publishing service simple and smart enough to make anyone an author -- every blogger, cook, photographer, parent, traveler, poet, pet owner, marketer, everyone (this means you).

With Blurb, anyone with access to a computer can make a book and get it professionally printed. The company offers free downloadable software, called BookSmart, which enables people without design experience to easily lay out the pages, choose background colors and fonts and edit photos. The design templates were created by book design experts. Print one copy, 100 or one million.

  • Love the print quality, I must add I have made it work in Linux using WINE emulator as well You should embrace this info and include it in the support pages.

  • Nice to meet you here Eileen. I have used Blurb Europe for a few years now (2010) and have to say for my use they are very good. Prices are too high for reasonable resell consideration, but for personal portfolios they are a snip. Your customer service is second to none over the Internet and that has to be as comforting for buyers as good quality books. For those who consider this company, remember that your images will only look as good as your edits, so keep that in mind.

  • For printing the book, I would suggest the ClickBook software. It will print books of any size. From cute doll books to full-sized books on any printer. Even prints in signatures.

You can get it from ClickBook (dot) com

    or from

    BlueSquirrel (dot) com

  • I did two photo books with blurb and the image quality is poor they have the tendency to oversaturate colors. Paper quality is also poor. I like Apple books much better.
