Using Saint Medallion, it's possible for you to gradually weaken the hauntings - they start dealing less and less damage and in some cases their effect disappears or lessens. Eventually they deal little to no damage and the game considers them as good as dead: the radio won't pick up interference. At this point you can stop and have them stay on your wall as a trophy!

They exist and remain in weakened state even if you leave and return to your apartment (well, most do). But like all hauntings, eventually they just disappear for no reason and the game may replace them with a new haunting.

I: Now his clock works again, an obvious improvement. (umm... let's just say it always made such a hideous noise)

II: Psychedelic wall-roots. They leave but small craters on your wall when dealt with this way.

III: Henry keeps finding a "mysterious lump" in his examinings as long as the haunting is alive, and you also hear it making sound. We can only hope the apartment policy allows pets.

IV: A lot less scary this way. It's as if the haunting malfunctioned, not the TV.

V: If only this one was a gradual disappearance. I would love it if only the ghost's head or face sticked out of the wall when near-dead. I figure a bald, gooey man's head set up over the mantelpiece would be something nice to spice up your high-class socialite gatherings with.

So what exactly are the hauntings?

How long does it take to die with full health? And what are those ''holy candles'' that I've heard about and where can you find them and how do you use them?

I know im a noob but im curious

  • @TheMysteriouswatcher

They are caused by the antagonist of the game. It's a long story, and you should probably try out the game instead of having me spoil it for you.

It depends on difficulty and proximity how much damage you receive from hauntings. They're not too deadly in general, since you are rarely forced to stay in close contact with them.

Holy candles are littered all over the game world. They're just items you pick up and can burn them near hauntings to exorcise them.

  • @AKheon

    So if you can die

how and why do you die

    I know im a noob!!

  • @TheMysteriouswatcher

Well, the hauntings seem to cause headaches or other anguish to Henry. Your life slowly drains being close to the haunted objects, and eventually Henry just shouts and its game over.

  • i know im a noob so i wonder

Can you die by the hauntings?

  • *Spoiler!*

The guy in the wall is actually Walter's first victim, Jimmy Stone

  • @xLiiLxDANNiix Well, that's not an option, since I don't have the game, and my computer refuses to read any silent hill wiki stuff whatsoever

  • @TheMysteriouswatcher Oh, my God... I've never seen so many questions. Go look at the damn wiki, or play it yourself. Seriously.

  • @TheMysteriouswatcher JUST PLAY THE FUCKING GAME!!!

  • Ignore my last comment (I fucked up)

    1. Who causes the hauntings and why?

    2. Why is the little kid seen at each death?

    3. What do the ''normal'' monsters symbolize?

    4. Can Eileen somehow use weapons?

    5. What is that big monster at the end of the game?

    6. What is Eileen doing at the end of the game and why?

(You don't mind me asking questions do you?)

  • I've got more questions

    1. Who causes the hauntings and why?

    2. Why is the little kid seen at each death?

    3

  • I've got some other questions to, if you don't mind (BTW; You're awesome!) 1. What are those large, baby-like things that you find in the Prison? 2. What are they saying when they point at Henry and what does it mean? 3. Can hauntings somehow affect your ending? 4. Can interaction with Eileen affect your ending as well? 5. In which world do you encounter the first boss? 6. How many bosses are there? 7. What's with the little kid? Who is he? 8. Can you encounter Walter as a normal enemy? -Alex
  • @AKheaon I just have a few other questions about this game 1. How many hauntings are there? 2. When do the hauntings start appearing? 3. Which haunting is the most dangerous one? 4. The main antagonist is that Walter guy, right? 5. What's with those 21 kills? 6. What does Henry have to do with Walter? 7. What's up with room 302? 8. What's so special with Eileen? I think that is all I want to know Is it ok if I ask questions in the future? Don't think about spoiling matters Don't mind about them
