This is the second instalment of our development in the new jewellery studio, you will get a much better look at what it is we are building and how things are coming together.
It is during this video that things really start to pick up the pace for me. i am a visual person and being able to see a visual representation of the vision I have had in my mind for what feels like an age, is a great experience.
Developing your dream is something that will live with you forever, take my word.
Halfway through, a little bit halfway through the joist you can see we've done a really good job getting all this stuff up; at 450 [ ] which is fantastic. And we're just gonna lay a couple of pieces of the flooring board up there a little bit later just so we can get some...
Okay, let's try and stretch here. As you can see we've done probably 90% of the floor; a little bit of a tricky corner coming up here around the safe and the stairs but we'll deal with that when I get to it. but we're looking pretty good; very happy with today's progress considering yesterday was a complete waste of a day, unfortunately it all went to nothing and we ended up going and returning the original floor board packets we got an exchanging them for some new ones which seems to have worked fine.
So here we go, bit of rubbish for you, training area and my beautiful wife helping still. We've actually started the interior walls. That's the space where the kitchenette's gonna go, just in through there, putting a couple of covers up the top there. Coming round the side, we're gonna have a workspace area just in here in that little space left by the wall. And then on the inside of this wall over here is gonna be the polishing room.
So this internal area that you're looking at right now is gonna be just a separated sealed off room just where I can come in and do any polishing and buffing up of jewellery. The jewellery polishing bench will probably sit right about here and then just the last... Here we go, just opening up the door, we got some good construction coming through. You see here we just started to build the [dead cell] joined across from the stairs there; and basically this is gonna create an awesome security feature. There's gonna be a door that comes on this side here, we walk through and what you'll see across this wall is 4 jewellers benches right up to the corner up there. If you turn round this way this is the framework for the wall for the kitchenette which will go between the steel post there and the wooden frame.
The safe with the stairs going running over the safe, and this will just be the inside edge, or inside the part of the [dead cell] wall. Coming round this way you'll see that the kitchenette wall comes past the second wall here and there's gonna be a workbench with some storage cupboards underneath here.
Guys here we go, this is the end of out internal framework, internal walls; very exciting day. Now all that's done now we'll just wait on the plasterers to come in on Monday, today being fine.
So we're boxing the safe as you can see, very, very well; we've got some little angles coming back up onto the side of the ceiling just so we can open up the stairwell there for when clients are coming through and walking up the stairs. With the main wall of the [dead cell] through here into the doorway which will lead into the workshop. So that's the door that [ ] will see in the background, and the steel frame there with the lock on it is what we'll be walking through into the workroom.
