Gregg Isett gives us a short introduction to playing the pedals on an organ. In this case he is playing a Roland Atelier 900 organ. An additional video on this topic will be uploaded in the very near future.

  • So do you only heal and toe for chromatic runs, when you have to deal with a key with many accidentals, or might you also use it for a bass line in c? Is there such a thing as proper 'footing' like there is fingering for one's hands?

  • @Ntalikeris666 I totally agree, the Pipe Organ would be the best teacher

  • I don't really understand what Ntalikeris666 is trying to say. Whether one plays a pipe organ or an electronic organ, the technique is the same. Yes the sounds can be vastly different, but the instrument that's being played on this video is not a simple SYNTH. I love his work on showing the basic, including the heel & toe. I'd love to hear more of his playing the theatre organ.

  • Thanks for the basics. Can't wait for more.

  • if someone want to learn pedal technique, it would be better for him to study pipe organ.

I say that becuase lots of people today play synthesyzers that have a plethora of sounds,- and Pedals similar to an organ- but most of them might think that it is the same thing to play in an organ and playing in a Synth.
