Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh (Come, Sweet Death, Come Blessed Rest) is a song for solo voice and basso continuo from the 69 Sacred Songs and Arias that Johann Sebastian Bach contributed to Georg Christian Schemelli's Musicalisches Gesangbuch (BWV 478)
The Choir is divided into 5 groups of 8 singers - the first 4 bars of Bach's song are sung as he wrote them. Then, they are decontructed with Group 1 singing each note for 4 seconds, Group 2 singing each note for 6 seconds and so on. Group 5 holds each note for 12 seconds.
