@logopants WOW! There's not many people in the world who can claim that. You should be proud of your dad. My colleague at work went to school with him at Tapton in Sheffield, too. They don't make them like Coe any more, and I doubt we'll see his like again.

@deano27671 He's a legend, thats all I can say. My dad actually beat him in a race back when he was in the Hallamshire Harriers :) Unfortunately he gave up running and started staying out all night at clubs when he was 18

@logopants A month earlier at the European Cup semi final competition in Helsinki, he ran the last 100m in 11.3, pulling 15m away from Nikolai Kirov (the Olympic bronze medallist) in the home straight. It was and still is the fastest last 100m ever in an international 800m race.
