b16 crx blows engine

@jbabister naa dude i doubt it. It sounded healthy. Bottem end is a help, but for 9500rpm's the skunk 2 valve train is enough. If he wants to go more, he will need stronger rods, then to get more HP, lighter pistons. Crank, is an ok upgrade, but camshafts would help more for horsepower, but nether the crank or cams will be damaged because of high rpm's.

@fitimio001 yah but he is all top end.. the bottom end of that motor is a stock b16 stock crank and pistons with who knows how many miles on it... that block i bet has a hole in it the smoke is oil burning on the hot parts

Why is everyone surprised that he revved it to 9500 RPM, the bottleneck to redlining higher is the valve train, and it says that he upgraded to skunk 2 valve train system, those are rated up to 10500RPM.... Its probably a blown head gasket, or something relativity simple, because the engine sounded fine to me.
