Software crashes, if it does anything even remotely sophisticated, that's just the way it goes. Someone once told me this: "There's a road network (hardware) and a car (software), now if the road network is updated suddenly all cars need to check whether their tires will still grip the surface."
I have a colleague in Brazil who just went to the kickoff event for SolidWorks 2009. The software crashed in the middle of the demo. Sounds like they are still not addressing real-world challenges for engineers & designers like basic reliability.
