I was verbally harassed every day. I just couldn't deal with it so I left the school. --Anthony
The teachers pretend that they don't hear it. Or just don't say anything at all. --Maria
In Voices of GLBT Youth, 12 young people--gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning--share their experiences of growing up, coming out, and being queer. Their stories of harassment, and violence at school, their perspectives on homophobia in society, and their struggles for acceptance point out where many families and schools are failing LGBT youth. Their message to adults: "The slightest thing you do will make so much of a difference." An insightful video for educators and others who work with youth.

  • Thank you. I grew up not kowing as much as this children and it was very hard. Self Identity is a precious thing and it is not decided upon by others no matter how strong their beleifs are. Guideing people to find out for themselves is a gift. Unfortunately we do not have a lot of educators trained and capaible fo fulfilling those rolls yet. Let us find those places of love and acceptance together!
