Searching Kaunala

A merger of song and sight in search of the mysteries of nature and love, this video presents a live recording of "Something in Your Voice", accompanied by photos taken along the Kaunala Trail of Oahu. Prior to heading to Oahu for our honeymoon, my husband and I were forewarned of its tourist traps. Many people encouraged us to travel to other islands so that we could really "get away". Due to our limited budget, visiting other islands was out of the question on this occasion. Instead, we set out to discover the riches of Oahu by hiking a number of trails. Away from the busy streets of Honolulu, we discovered many treasures along this loop trail in the Pupukea Paumalu Forest Reserve, on the North Shore of Oahu. The December 4, 2008 live performance featured Dawn Norfleet on flute/vocals and yours truly on lead vocal and piano. Wow, I love the way the more detailed piano part comes in after the opening vocal improvs, very powerful. Love the fusion of music and travelogue (my two great loves beyond Mr. Bunny as you know). :)

Beautiful video. First time there was too much distraction, but I really enjoyed it the second time (w/ fewer distractions). Also Mihir and Rahul really enjoyed the clip of the bird at the end. To quote Rahul, "Lookitdad bird, mama!"
