In Ginger's book, she wrote that Fred didn't like her dress because some of the feathers would fly off during the dance (if you look on the floor you can see a few of the feathers). Ginger loved the dress and wanted to wear it. About 4 days after filming the dance, Ginger said Fred sent her a gift. The card said, "Feathers, I love You. Fred." Inside the box was a
gold feather charm for Ginger's charm bracelet.
