The central government is on the spot, after a high court judge blocked the City Council from collecting rates in Eastliegh, over failure to deliver services. Eastliegh requires about 4 billion shillings to rehabilitate its infrastructure but the government is to fulfill a 2008 pledge to avail the money. And as Robert Nagila reports, residents have now had enough.

  • @Savai333 MP for the are is a certain Bishop Margaret "where is my security" Wanjiru. Too busy making noise yet doesnt do anything for her constituents. People should start taking a stand. No services, no pay. easy.

  • The Govt has forgotten everybody, not just the Eastleigh people. I am glad to see these people are standing up and saying, enough is enough. All of Kenya should revolt.

  • Shameful Kenya once a Shining example of a Post Colonial African country is now being shown up by even the smallest and poorest of African Countries!

  • @larryboy1995 looool, the dude sounds like a mad gay kikuyu.

  • @scratchaholiks I think he's trying to put on some kind of accent, but the result is this annoying vuvuzela-like whine...LMFAO!

  • Where does the money go? Where I was born in Nairobi, the same potholes that were there then are still there now, only bigger!

  • @ayoma825 WHY, WHY, WHY Can't ALL Nairobi businesses and RESIDENTS go to court too? Then for sure, Nairobi WILL CHANGE. It has been ALMOST ten years since Karengata stopped paying rates. I wish ALL other residents and businesses will do the same. Anyone of you guys live in Nairobi? Then talk to your resident's association and the other businesses... to see if you can do this too. PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE.

  • Karen residents did the same and I hope all Nairobians did the same, STOP PAYING RATES. City council cannot keep taking money yet it is not delivering, the minister for Nairobi metropolitant a certain Githae is too busy campaigning for yes that he has no time to do his work. Nairobian take a stand untill the council starts delivering services.
