@Bomberzone1745 I quite agree. The dissonance of the score makes Phantom so different to anything else. Lloyd Webber did a very good job considering he usually writes in a 32 pop song style, orchestrated in a way to disguise it as faux opera. A good expressionist piece in the style of A. Schoenberg is very difficult to do, and ALW seems to have understood and incorporated it well throughout the entire score. "I have brought you" etc. shouln't work in a romantic musical, but it works so well here

I love the way she slid across the floor when she fell,
to me it made it look more realistic, like she actually fell.

Fuuny how his piano playing doesn't wake her up but the monkey music box does. LOL. Anyway, I love this song!
