An 11-year-old explains how BC-STV works in response to criticisms by STV opponents that STV is too complicated for BC voters to understand (though the opponents themselves seem to think they're smart enough to have figured it out, as have millions of Irish, Australians, New Zealanders, Maltese, Scots and Indians).

  • Wish the UK had the option of voting for STV in the referendum!

Any chance you can explain AV? People over here think its complicated. Considering an 11 year old can understand STV, sure you can understand AV.

  • So... the people who voted for Carla as their first choice don't get her elected OR have their other selections counted? Looks like a better system but am I right in seeing that as a flaw, that in fact only people voting for the most popular and the least popular candidates as their first choice make a difference? The candidates in the middle and their voters are in the same position as under a First-Past-The-Post-System, is that right?
