  • @123philhenderson Hey for god's sake why don't you understand, we grow trees for pulp and paper, they mature in 25 years and then we replant them after harvest, just like corn or wheat etc. You can't be that slow to get it, can you?

The green movement is what has replaced the red movement of years ago and it is the same people and same ideas but painted green instead of red.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Sure lets find a better fuel than oil before it is gone but pulp and paper is farming.

  • You truely are ridiculous, you actually would rather go out and chop down trees rather than reusing resources? You must realize that the Earth is not some endless source of resources that is ours to pillage! People like you once claimed that oil was a commodity that could be exploited forever, didn't work that well did it? This is not about costs! this is about the fact our entire society lives unsustainably, and that we encourage developing countries to do the same.

  • @123philhenderson They use separate trucks to pick up the recycled goods, thus using more fuel and it costs so much to handle the stuff and then you get next to nothing for it, it is just a waste of time, money and energy. The only one worth doing is alum cans because they are woth .50 a pound. All the rest should be burned to generate electric power. All our garbage should be burned for power generation.

  • @123philhenderson CO2 does not raise the temperature, it follows a temperature rise. Wow you really don't know very much do you? Stop watching Al Gore and David Suzki, they are just in it for the money and they lie. Al Gore has made over 100 million so far with his carbon company.

It makes no sense to recycle glass or paper because we grow trees for paper, they take about 25 years to reach time for cutting. OK red woods take a long time, over 100 years so lets leave them alone.

  • I'm terribly sorry, but it has become apparent that you know next to nothing of the Green Party, their policies and ecological practises as a whole. I will repeat once more, Green Party policy IS opposed to the dumping of waste, CO2 DOES help plants grow, but it also raises the temperature on Earth, which is a clear danger. Our country IS full of trees but growing them as a crop makes no sense, how long do redwoods take to grow? And how is recycling not valid?

  • While she complains about CO2, never will you hear her talk about cities like Victoria dumping raw sewage directly into the pacific ocean. That I would fight against.

CO2 is not a polutant, every commercial greenhouse has CO2 generators to bring up the levels from our current 385PPM to over 1000PPM, to help the plants grow. During the Jurasic period the CO2 levels were over 4000PPM and just for your info, American subs have CO2 scrubbers that keep the level below 8000ppm. It is all BS

  • In our little township, they collect recyled paper, glass and plastic. It cost over $2000 dollars a ton to do so and then they sell the stuff for $28.00 per ton. This sort of thing ups my taxes to do what? It just does not make any sense to recycle. Our country is filled with trees, if you have ever driven across it you would know all you see are trees and little else. We grow trees as crops, why should we not use them? Glass?, have we run out of sand?

Water the country is filled with it.

  • And why is that? You have given nothing but nasty venom to defend your opinions. A truely valid point of view doesn't require childish name-calling. Ad hominem attacks do not advance a dialogue any further. I could attack you, or the people you support, but i don't. Because I recognize that despite our differences of opinions, we are all honest people looking for answers, even you. It is the measure of an intelligent mind to entertain an idea without excepting it.

  • @123philhenderson By supporting fatso May, you have proved that you do not deserve respect.

  • Ah well you have clearly proven yourself to be a well spoken individual, with clearly articulated ideas. Churchill also believed that the British Monarchy had the right to throw Gandhi in jail, and called him a sickening charlatan. You do not even know what my beliefs are, and you are too narrow minded to find out what they are. I am more than willing to listen to your opinion, I only ask for the same respect. Wisedom does not necessarily relate to age my friend.
