IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

TECHNICAL SPECS:
- Running Time: Approx 4 min.
- Music: 'D-Code' by Dust Devil
- Edited with AvidPRO HD.
- Shot on MiniDV.
- Source Material: A Rehearsal for the 'Last Chance to Dance' spring concert, shot on location in the Dance Lab at the Performing Arts Dept. of Southeast University.
- About an hour of raw footage.

Comments:
- I am quite pleased with the overall matching of the action with the audio. Considering the music that is actually being choreographed is very experimental and avant-garde (a piece from the earlier work of Steve Reich), it's a miracle that any sense of cohesion was possible!
- Also, the conversion to .MOV format made the final product a little grainier than I had anticipated. It is really a minor concern- I feel the composition is still strong enough to give you a taste.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND PATIENCE,
SINCERELY,

JOE ROUSSIN

  • this is pretty cool. i like the hand spasms. does any one know Who choreographed it?

  • Actually, a student at the University here in Missouri choreographed it- Her name is Emma Dieckman (she's the blonde). I'll tell her you enjoyed it; She will be pleased, I'm sure! e-mail me if you want her contact info.

  • Nicely edited...

    Ran very smoothly.

  • I love the angles in which you captured the movement. Very unique and interesting. I also like how you added a few of those "rehearsal moments" where the dancers are just laughing at themselves or being goofy.

It is also important to note that the dancer in grey has a nice rear-end.

  • oooooooooh!!!!! seems dark and CREEEEPY! i like the title. is there a final verison of this dance? like uncut and stuff with the music they used
