Were going to make a simple, yet cheap sorting machine.. And how it works is that were going to take advantage of two seperate mods.. Red Power tubes and Factorization Barrels.

Lets see how it works.

This looks like a great and cheap sorting system, I think I'll be using that early game until I can get my Logistics network sorted out, thanks for sharing it!

One note though, I have no clue what you said towards the end of the video because of that tune going over your voice. You may want to look into adjusting or removing that ;)

Ya makes sense.. Which is why I suggested in the video that for the system to work perfect you should define whats where first.. An option is to let the system do it.. But if you even have the system seperated it can cause problems... If the system thinks a spot is open first... Before getting to the actual barrel.. It will place it in empty barrel..

The only way to get the system 100% foolproof is to have it in a line... and not stacked. But if you define where they go.. Problem solved.

If you've already defined all the barrels, yeah, no covers are needed. If not, it sees the bottom as a valid destination until there's a stack of something in the barrel. I'm just trying to save people the headache I went through when I first saw that barrels would take items from the bottom. I thought it was awesome... for about a minute.

Nope no covers needed. The system is smart enough to know that it can't enter from the bottom, but still can from the top..

    Just tested. ;)

Right. I'm just pointing out that you can't just throw a barrel on the top and bottom of the pneumatic tube and expect it to fill up both barrels because it doesn't work like that. You have to put covers on the bottom of that top row of barrels to block off the bottom input, and run the other pneumatic tubes on top of them.

Ya but to keep it compact you can still keep it this way.. Just add some to the top.. With logistic pipes you would have to have 2 spaces between the barrels.. Because of the extraction.. In Redpower extraction doesn't matter.. Cause you can't.

Ya, the input for the bottom will work.. But only 64 items.. After that it gets stuck. But you can still do it the way I did in the video to save room.. You just have to have Pipes on the top to insert.. That way its still compact.

Ya everything seems to be different.. With Logistic pipes you have to insert from top, take out from bottom.. And the sides don't work for Extraction at all. But seems with Redpower.. tops work, bottom works.. But input from the bottom only accepts 64.
