Republic doesnt mean much apart from the lack of hereditary monarchy. Democracy has a wider definition. Albania is a republic, China is a republic, Argentina is a republic. None of them have monarchies. Whereas the UK, Belgium, Spain, Sweden have monarchies and are called Constitutional Parliamentary Monarchies, but also considered democracies. There is no doubt that the US is also a democracy and has more in common with those countries than with China, Albania, etc....

Sorry,. wrong again... Because you call yourself lincoln does not mean you are he. Many countries ironically title themselves exactly opposite of what they are. China and the like have never had a country of the people, for the people and by the people nor have any of the other countries you listed above. We however, had a view brave visionary souls that gave us just that over two centuries ago. We just failed to keep it. Rule of law, not rule of the mob. Your misinformed lincoln.
