Great video (5) stars it will go in my fav to help lead people out of this heresy, I was mis-led by this bad doctrine at one time. I thank you for exposing this works salvation heresy that so many have been mis-led into and away from the grace of God the Gospel to this false gospel of works that Mr.Comfort preaches. Thank God that Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone.

"Repent of or turn from sins" and then he goes on to say "don't trust in your own goodness." Which one is you double-talking heretic Comfort.

Comfort is right in asserting that the cross was a LEGAL transaction. The question remains "was it an EFFECTUAL transaction?" The ramifications are manifold. If it was effectual then it got the job done apart from any obedience on our part (Rom 5:19). If that's true and you believe in the doctrine of hell, then Christ did not die for all. If Christ did not die for all there is no basis for the Well-Meant Offer upon which Ray-Ray's philosophy of ministry rests.

How is stop sinning and trusting in Jesus alone compatible? Comfort is a walking oxymoron who babbles a bunch of doubletalk. There is one thing one must do to be saved. Acts 16:30-31. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.

@CautiousSaint -All you said is EXACTLY CORRECT according to the NT Bible. God saves men and women despite their sins. This is a Divine intervention, an act of God, a supernatural event. It's called being "Born Again." This occurs upon the conviction of the Holy Spirit revealing to ANY SINNER the reality of their sinful condition before God, AND, AND their need for a SINLESS Redeemer, Jesus Christ. This is EXACTLY what happened to one of the thieves on the Cross, and it happened in an instant.

I don't know much about Ray Comfort except that he carries a cross on his back all over the world. But I can tell you this, if he (or anyone) thinks they can turn from sin BEFORE God will save them, they DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT THE GOSPEL IS, AND, they IGNORE MOST OF THE NT. Man is spiritually DEAD at birth, born into SIN. The Cross itself represents Christ taking away a man's sins through the Blood Atonement and exchanging it for His Righteousness by Faith; A GIFT to ALL WHO BELIEVE! PERIOD!

If Ray Comfort has stopped sinning then 1 John 1 must not apply to him. Wow. The Apostle John said if we say we have no sin, we lie and deceive ourselves. I suppose people who really do believe they have stopped sinning and that others can as well are living in deception. Time to wake up and read what God's word says. A truly born-again person will desire to sin less and will be sensitive or mindful of his/her sin and will confess it like 1 John 1 instructs.

@Jesus2di4U I have personally heard Ray Comfort tell someone he was witnessing to that a person must "stop sinning and then trust Jesus" for salvation. First of all, how can a person stop sinning when they have not even trusted Christ and been saved yet?? A person must realize their sin and that they cannot pay for it, and that Christ did, and believe on Him. When he saves a person, He gives them the ability to have victory over sin, even though a person will still sin occasionally (1 John 1).

Ray Comfort is an example of why the original Greek of the New Testament should not be thrown out. "Repent" does not mean "turn from you sin/sins." It simply does not mean that, except maybe in the English dictionary and the NT was not written in English. "Repent" in the NT is metanoeo, which means to change one's mind regarding sin and see it as God does, and to realize what sin is and that one is a sinner before God in need of salvation. It is a supernatural act by God when He saves a person.
What he meant to say was stop commiting habitual sin(Hebrews 6:6).... This video is taking it out of context...

@theflex32
still waiting for an answer from theflex32. seems like he's probably not so sure about not sinning "habitually" anymore.
