This is the first start up of my 383 small block that I built and installed in my 68 Camaro. The bottom end is a stroker kit that I purchased from Speedo Motive. Heads are from AFR, intake is an Edelbrock super victor knock off, carb is a Mighty Demond 750, MSD ignition system and Headmen headers. Cam specs are my little secret. I built this engine to compete with a Shelby GT 500 that my ex boss owns. He always chickend-out so we never raced but the offer still stands if he ever gets the balls!

  • @gunforme I am glad you are happy with your car. Each of us has the Body style / model that we prefer and i think if we didn't have the Ford vs Chevy feud the track just wouldn't be as fun. lol. I am a Chevy guy but i do like some fords. Carol Shelby era mainly for me. I think he was the best designer Ford ever had. I have driven a 97 Mustang GT 5.0 and i do have to say it surprised me. There is just nothing that makes me personally over the edge about them.

  • @gunforme I agree, i would just like to see more of a variety. And yes im sure they use them because they are cheaper and very easy to get. To me that takes the fun out of it. It took me years to find a 68 Camaro. Yes there will be others at the track but not infested. Im saying i would like to see more people build some cars you dont see as often. Older mopars, Amc and things of that nature. Variety is fun especially when you have no idea what they may be running under the hood.

  • @chevellegirl7 Well I just happen to be a fan of the fox Mustang body style, but I'm sure some use the car because of its light weight. Its cheaper to make it go fast. Just like the mid 90's camaros are easy to make go fast. If you can make a heavier car win at the track, more power to ya. But you do have to make a lot more power to overcome that weight. It doesn't bother me what car someone uses or whats under the hood. Either we win or we lose. It's fun at the track either way.

  • @gunforme I am very sorry that you fell into buying the most Cliche car of all time. I think even mustang guys are tired of seeing Pinto styled stangs on the track. Too damn many of them. I couldn't stand watching Pass time for this reason. Just too damn many. I understand the whole weight to HP ratio you guys are trying to pull off but i like to see people bring different cars to the track. Makes it more interesting. I decided to build a 400 sb for my camaro because everybody runs strokers.

  • @chevellegirl7 You can't begin to compare a 5.0 to a 383 stroker. Thats an extra 81 cubes. Put this motor beside the one I am building right now for my 91 GT and see. 351w stroked to 393, AFR 225cc heads, TFS 2 cam, 10:1 compression, longtube headers, blah blah, Then your talking similar displacement but with a lighter body. It will be fast. I love American muscle but trying to compare a 302 to any stroker makes no sense. To younger kids, no your honda wouldn't beat this.

  • niiccee!!!

  • Thats what they were built for! Those little 5.0 pos blue ovals are not only generic because any hippie can find and build one for nothing, but they dont have shit on this. And to those that think their turbo honda civic can beat this, LET US PUT A TURBO ON OUR V8'S! And for half the cost you built your cars for- muscle will still win. Love the video , I have a 68 too.

  • why dont we match these gt 500 super shits up with the zr1 vette and see what happens

  • what kinda compression you running

  • yeah my mustang would blow dat out da water
