At Dealermouth we're always thinking about how you, our disciples can get a few more deals with a little less brain damage (we don't want you turning out like us!). www.dealermouth.com. So you've worked the deal to the finish. You had a slim chance of getting together tonight. You know the drill, they have an average mile,so-so color, dog smelling sedan with a brand new set of mis-match tires. They saw one on www.traderonline.com for $23,000. In Anchorage, Alaska. All average asking price is $19,900. But their's MUST be a NICER car than the $23k car. Are you with me??? Your used car manager tells the desk $11,000 ACV. You open the deal at $9,000 because you have a "set".

After a few hours you did the right thing and moved inch by inch raising the trade fifties and hundreds at a time until you get to $16,000. The desk says that you're safe. The customer likes you now for working so hard for them and is "willing" to take $18,000. Yes, they're lower now than the Alaska car but at their car has to be worth at LEAST a grand more than www.kbb.com or www.edmunds.com average trade in!

You're not getting together tonight. You have worked the deal right and not shortcutted a thing. You walk them all the way to their car thanking them for the visit and even without the deal how thankful you are to have met them and how your life has been enriched just for meeting them.

Eureka! You have an idea! Hold on! "Folks, what if I had a way to market your car for you? I have my own site connected to the dealership's site and in it I have the way to post the car at no cost to you on virtual consignment! What do you think? You go shop around a little (and get offered around $10,000 a few times) while I post your car to my site. If I get a customer for your car at your number, we have a deal, right?? You'll tell me if you trade somewhere right? I don't want to get and end user involved if it's not available!

They accept. Now for weeks it's you and them working on selling their car! Think they'll return your calls now? How about how protected from buying they'll be while shopping around? (you hope they shop! You'll only look better!) How will the competitive salesperson react to an up that has another store marketing their trade for them at thousands more than they will ever be able to pay? Their sales energy will collapse!

So a few days go by (or weeks...don't worry, you'll still need the commission!) Hey it's your customer on the phone...

"We're tired of trying to sell the car...what can your dealership pay us now....?!"

Awesome!!

Whose your daddy? DEALERMOUTH!
