the home was built on the highest hill in brenham because when the giddings lived in brenham yellow fever was going around and the misqitoes can't breed in high aeras. the mansion is called giddingstone because one of the gidding daughters got married to a guy with the last name stone and moved in and it has been called giddingstone mansion.
