Once again the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway has kicked off its special events calander with their popular Winter Steam Gala. The event this year saw 2 visiting engines (Both of the same class but both very different!) and saw the final Gala apperance for resident locomotive LMS 3f Jinty Class 47279

The Full Lineup was;

|LMS 5MT 'Black Five' Class 44767 'George Stephenson' (Unique in having Stephensons Valve Gear, visiting the line for this event)
|LMS 5MT 'Black Five' Class 44871 (From Ian Riley, was due to Visit the 2010 Autumn Steam Gala but had other commitments)
|LMS 3f 'Jinty' Class 47279 (Last Gala apperance before withdrawal for Overhaul(
|L&Y Class 25 'Ironclad' 0-6-0 No.957
|WD 8F 2-8-0 Class 90733
|BR Standard 4MT Class 80002
|Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T No.1704 'Nunlow' (Failed in the morning so Jinty 47279 took over the runs left by 1704)

Over the course of the day the weather changed a lot, going from cloudy but warm to very bright and quite chilly! The order of shots in this video are as follows

|47279 arrives into Keighley on the first train of the day from Oxenhope
|44767 departs Haworth with the first Oxenhope train of the day
|44871 arrives into Haworth with a service to Keighley
|44871 departs Oakworth on the same service
|47279 steams into Oakworth on the 3 coach suburban set
|44767 departs Haworth for Keighley, with 47279 and the local set on the rear
|44871 climbs the gradient towards Haworth Station with an Oxenhope train
|80002 departs Oxenhope for Keighley
|44767 & 44871 join forces on a train for Oxenhope, taken between Top Field & Oxenhope
|44767 departs Ingrow West heading towards Keighley
|80002 steams by Ingrow West with the goods train being banked by 957, the return shot follows soon after
|44767 blasts its way through Ingrow West on the express run to Oxenhope
|44871 arrives into Ingrow West
|80002 departs Keighley on a service to Oxenhope, taken from Keighley Bank

This is the best Winter Gala i've been too on the worth valley, great visiting engines, good weather and seeing as it was very busy i'm sure a lot of others thought the same.

Enjoy!
