Also your sock isnt doing anything but blocking air from getting into your house. Carbon pellets are solid. You need something sucking air through it for it to do anything. ... if one had the surplus energy or someone to crank a drum fan in a fallout event, the best pre-filter would be threw clean filtered water, not unlike a water pipe.

~The results would be somewhat humid air, more so with warmer water, which is not good in humid climates over long term, a source of cold water could be a effective condenser & air conditioner, which is welcome in humid climates and crowed fallout shelters
