@chrischapman37 Actually "Private Dancer" was planned into Love over Gold album but Knopfler decided that song needs woman artist and left it out.

It's amazing how much this song reminds me of my wife when I first met her in the 80s. She was interested in the arts, including tap dancing ... a typical young girl in bloom just like the first verse in the song. 25 years on, she's now a tough corporate lawyer with her own firm and a great wife and mother to our two kids just like the second verse. I'm going to karaoke this song at our 25th anniversary next year as my tribute to my "Dancer on thin ice".
