Sema Dana Mana Dinu - State Music Orchestra

I.M.R.A. Iriyagolla was born to a wealthy family in Katugampola. A product of Katugampola village school, Ananda and Nalanda colleges, he was an excellent student selected to the medical college, but later left without completing the course. In 1947, he entered parliament as an independant candidate. In 1960, he joined the UNP and became the cabinet minister of Education under the governement of Dudley Senanayake. He reformed the education system during his time. D.S. Senanayake College was a result of his reforms.
