He was running low on funds...so he predicted the "end" was soon so he could raise money for "awareness" billboards, etc. and he made millions for himself. So he doesn't care if no one believes him or he even lost some followers, cause he's set monetarily. He didn't believe the world would end anymore than I did...he just knew he'd be comfortable until then making money off the suckers that did believe him. Yeah, he's an asshole.
