Can you use the apple tv on other tv's. So like I watch it on one....plug the hdmi out and then take it to my room....would it work?

Is there any documentation on how to do this? I got an Apple TV and I'm trying to do this with my iPhone 4. I haven't seen any of the settings you used. But what you did is exactly what I want to do with the TV.
