  • RIP Danny.

  • I love Bruce but his voice back in the day was so much better. It seems like he changes the way these old songs were sung.

  • how good it would be to see bruce springsteen and bob dylan singing the song like a rolling stone

  • Thank you, Danny! Miss you, I hope you've met Jeannie. RIP Love, AnnieJo

  • What a discription... I wish I was there.

  • damn..

     great stuff...

  • hey it was mine too, I was told by Bruce Vets that this was one of his best, I'd say we both got a great intro to one of the best musicians in rock n roll

  • I was at this concert, my first bruce concert. I only knew the really famous songs (BtoR, dancing, badlands, thunder road, etc..) so I didn't have the appreciation that I have for this song now. It will never be the same without Danny. I have been to 2 concerts since and going to 2 more this month. Bruce is the best!! RIP Phantom Danny Federici, in our hearts forever.

  • Someone explain to me why all his live versions of "4th" change the lyric in the final stanza. The original album version includes that lyric as "...that waitress I was seeing lost her desire for me..." while on all the live versions, he sings "...the angels have lost their desire for us..."

Why is the entire final stanza so different on the album? Thanks.

  • RIP Madame Marie....6/27/08
