U.S. Office of Special Counsel ( OSC ) supported TSA Federal Air Marshal Robert MacLean talks to Fox News about Federal Air Marshal Service should prioritize air marshal deployments. On August 25, 2011, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel filed a motion in support of MacLean's July 2003 disclosure of TSA's plan to remove air marshals from nonstop, long distance flights in order to save money on hotel rooms for them. The cost-cutting plan was to make up for contractor overspending and bonuses for TSA managers and executives.
