I still can't understand why they only have 2 factions? I would LOVE to play as the Romulans, and have a big warbird to command! I bought the game when it first came out and played it for a whole month, then got sick of the super slow leveling and the crazy prices just to change clothes! Anyway, one of the first anouncements I got was that Cryptic was working on expanding the playible factions, but now it's free so I doubt there will be any new ones? Or even worse make you pay to play them.

@ RichiHaas No you can´t play as Borg in Star Trek Online. You can have three Borg Officers thanks to the Cryptic store, the Diplomatic Corpse and the STF inside the game. And if you make a Lifetime Subscription at the beginning you can have a Borg as your Character but you can´t fly Borg Ships.

The borg are designed to be difficult, so that players can work together in "swarms" in the event of a borg attack.

@jonesphillip25 I was a captain of a Defiant class when I last played the game and trust me, if you're up against even a Bord sphere in Star Trek Online as a single ship... You're pretty fucked.
