I have a friend who used to go to these events, but stopped in disgust. She said the vast majority of the guys there couldn’t care less about Iraq, but were just out to have sex with as many naïve middle-class girls as possible after filling their heads with fake tales of eco-warrior campaigning around the globe.
They were effectively all as bad as John Worboys, though not technically as it was all consensual. Not that the Police cared what went on at these events in any case…

why isnt he prime minister
While I don't entirely agree with Mark Thomas, I can understand him wanting British troops out of Iraq. It's not like terrorists attacked their WTC or anything.
I just wish they wouldn't rip on the U.S. for sending our own troops in. You'd be surprised how many of us are more than happy with our boys being over there.
As for not wanting to be involved in someone else's battle, totally your choice, Britain.

@dragoonthelad don't forget that Iraq had nothing to do with the attack on the Twin Towers. I'm not sure why terrorists attacking the WTC justifies the illegal invasion of Iraq? That is why the majority of the British public disapproved of the Iraq war. Trouble is we've got a government that most people didn't vote for ... yet this is meant to be a democracy!

@neoconhitman Iraq didn't have anything to do with the WTC, true, but the growing list of offenses they had stacking and stacking were needing immediate action. What did we do? Sanction them? It obviously wasn't working out.

@dragoonthelad if violating UN resolutions is really that important then there is at least one country I could name that has violated more UN resolutions than Iraq could dream off. Basically the US invaded Iraq to control the region and its resources. WMDs and UN Resolutions were just the excuse. Iraq was complying in most cases. The invasion was illegal because their was no UN resolution authorising military action. Regime change is illegal so they had to go with the WMD lies and faked docs.

Marky boy showing his true colours then! A bit harsh on Blair though, Iraq was like risk reduction, there COULD have been WMD there, even if one life might have been saved it was worth it...easy to say they weren't there! What id they WERE though, eh? Then what?

It's easy to say they weren't there because they weren't. You could be a murderer so best if we lock you up just in case.
Killing thousands of civilians and your own troops is never going to be worth it to save 1 life.
>> Then what?
Then what? There were no WMDs and the war was based on lies. Can we please stick to reality and not attempt to justify an illegal invasion based on lies and fabricated reports by making up "what if"s.
Its really simple. The war was based in lies.
