Here is a video from guysoflidar.com that shows the TrueLock feature of the Escort 9500i does not work as advertised. It locks out the false alert and also the real police radar on K band. This is due to the 9500i locking out too much of the frequency range.

  • Grosse arnaque le xt 9500 est une véritable merde j'en ai fait les frais!!

Depuis février 2011 lors du retour à l'envoyeur toujours aucun remboursement malgré de nombreux appels. Ne vous faites pas avoir comme moi.

  • If I were a cop, I would set myself up in a location that had a false signal, just to catch RD users who think they're so smart :)

  • Why don't these work in europe? i took the 9500i to Europe with me and it's so useless u r gonna want to throw it out of the window (as i did) 'coz it detects absolutely everything from gas stations by the road to shops and everything in between, u just get so fed up with the false alarms

  • I agree with many that this might be a set up or a faulty detector. I have the 9500 ix and have not had this problem. Several times I have been alerted to police K radar within a false K zone because it picked up 2 frequencies. I like auto learn but I leave it off and perform manual lockouts.

  • is this in wolf point or glasgow mt?

  • OMG people are buttholes. The were just showing how the detector will not show a given band if you program it not to. And as for setting up a radar next to a shopping center, the cop's radar will be on a different frequency and the 9500 will alert you to both. (Unless you have an ix and it memorizes the store door's frequency like mine does. Radar does not have one frequency and there are rarely two together with the same frequency. Now who is the IDIOT?

  • this is so stupid!!! you guysoflidar must think people are complete morons. of course if you set up an area as a false positive and then have a radar gun aiming at you 5 seconds later it's going to consider that part of the false alert!!! pointless!!!!

so if you're concerned about that... DONT SET ANY ALERTS AS FALSE!!!! IT'S AN OPTION DUH!!!!!!

  • Secondly, even if this wasn't the case, the video was shot in April 2007, which means that this has to be a very early production unit of the original 9500i. As a result, software issues & glitches were still likely prevalent. But, I honestly think this video was set up to make the Escort appear to be malfunctioning in AutoLearn mode by hovering right around the minimum speed while near the known false alert. I'd take this video very lightly...
