I love this song. It makes me think of the times I spent with my mother, over the 16 1/2 years that my dad didn't want to be apart of. It means a lot to know that I'm not the only one who had a father that same way.

This song is dedicated to the sperm donor that is my real father. He got another woman pregnant at the same time as he did my mother and and he decided that since he had a son, he didn't have room in his life for a daughter. Luckily, my stepdad came along to proudly take his place. I have a daughter of my own now and I will never understand how someone can just abandon their own flesh and blood. He will be judged!

@donaldehagan i can totally agree with you on this. my real father is a lonely old man who will die that way. my step-dad, actually adopted dad, has been there for me all my life and has been the grandfather for my daughter i always knew he'd be. some men just aren't cut out to be fathers, and others are great even if it isn't blood.

This song is so true for my son and my ex. It really could have been different if he would have built that bridge but he chose not to......and made himself a newe family. So sad, but my son he also can do without him, because my current husband is a much better father to him than his real father ever will be.
