I dont agree with most of Chaves´s policies, but you must admit that the man has balls. He is one of those few leaders that will fight like a cornered cat to avoid that what is happening in Africa happens in south america (Have their resourses exploited and their people sunk in ignorance, hunger and unres). He migh have a loose mouth, but you must have some big set of cojones to be like that in the world today.

But we're still not a democracy in any meaningful sense. The corporations trot out a few acceptable candidates and allow us to select one. We then go back to football and "reality" TV. Our selection then proceeds to do the bidding of their corporate masters.
In a democracy, we would select representatives from among our own ranks and propel them to power, as happened in Bolivia with Evo Morales. That can't happen here, because corporate interests are diametrically opposed to human interests.
