The Rust Driver is the most pleasant surprise in pedaldom that I've come across all year. For this reason I'm giving it my inaugural "Burg Top Pick Award" and stamp of approval. I won't be handing these out readily, only to the gear I really think is a cut above.
The Rust Driver conjures beautifully the sound of a late 60's plexi cranked to the hilt. It only has one knob - output. The distortion amount is fixed and perfectly tuned as far as I'm concerned. You do get a three-way mini-toggle that lets you choose between normal, bright and warm tone modes. The first two are the most useful to me but I imagine the warm mode will be of use to those of you with very bright amps.
The pedal works equally as well with single coil or humbucker equipped guitars as I hope I demonstrate in this video.
An unsung hero of the pedal world, the HAO Rust Driver should be investigated by those of you with a love of grind. Rock on.

No, I haven't tried the Rocketts stuff yet. They were going to send me some units to demo a couple of months ago but they never materialised. Maybe next year... Have a good one!
