JFK had many of his own secrets, and he endlessly tried to get rid of Castro, both he and Bobby. Ironically, Castro is still alive and they are both long dead. This speech of his is almost hard to believe, however, given that no president since has ever shared as much real truth with the public. That means that for all of his imperfections, he was the closest thing to a moral being that the White House has seen in a long, long time. All hope of a better day seems to have died with him.
