Everywhere I read about cleaning a humidor that may have tobacco beetle eggs in them, it says to use an ammonia solution. I have looked everywhere for ammonia in drugstores, Walmart, Home Depot and I have had no luck finding it. Could someone please be more specific and tell me exactly what I need to buy and where I can find it? Thanks in advance.

Let's say you have cigars that are infested so you freeze them and after 3 days you put them back in your humidor . When you go to smoke them are you basically smoking dead beetle larvae???

thanks for the info but now whatever i had left, froze, and de-froze tastes like pizza, fish and chicken. nice flavours.
Do not use ammonia or any other chemical to clean your humidor, ever. Clean by mildly moistening a towel with distilled water and wiping it down. You can also lightly sand he interior to remove any surface contamination. If your humidor is so dirty/contaminated that it needs ammonia, then what you really need is a new humidor.
