25,000 people die each DAY from STARVATION, based on a United Nations report released in 2003 and reported by BBC News. This was before the current food crisis.

This heartbreaking film is about the hunger and poverty brought about by Globalization. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of man to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left these people.

In February 2006, at the 56th Berlin International Film Festival, Filmmakers were invited to join a Short Film Competition on the Theme: FOOD, TASTE and HUNGER.

3,600 Filmmakers from around the world, joined the competition, but only 32 films were chosen to be screened at the Berlinale Talent Campus.
This film topped the competition by being adjudged the Most Popular Short Film.

@022henry More food is diverted to feeding "food animals". If we didn't have to feed and slaughter 90 billion animals per year, to keep up with the high demand for meat & dairy (which BTW is killing us), we would have enough food to feed these people.

Don't worry about birth control, the government, corporations and big pharma are taking care of that through toxic processed food, GMO's, vaccines, chemical cocktails known as drugs. I'll stop there!

They think birth control is wrong but not having your family starved? What a pile of nonsense is that?I'm not against having big familes,as long as you care and look after them responsibly.I'm catholic but just because the Pope says birth control is wrong , I'm not gonna have a family of 8.The Vatican aint sending a check to support my family, that's for sure.

You know, with all due respect, I agree birth control would help, but if these people can't afford food, I'm guessing they can't afford birth control pills or medical care to get these prescribed.

Sometimes we need to walk in other peoples shoes to really understand, that's all.

You're somehow right in part,maybe all the money collected for world hunger shouldn't be spent on food,but on fammily planning and medical care for these people.But again it would take 1 or 2 generations to see real results hoping this is not interrupted by war, social and economic unrest typical of these countries.Oh by the way,I was born in a third world country,lacking many things like enough food,been there,seen it first hand and not through tv or documentaries.

Maybe if part of that 750 billion dollar bailout went toward helping these people, rather than rich bankers we might see some positive progress. It's time to help the ones that really need it without encouraging corruption and unrest. They have just as much right to life, love and happiness as the next guy. Since you were born in a third world country, you if anyone will understand how hard these people work just to get through another day. You have to love the smiles on the kids faces.
