Ah, the return of Dead Confederate. If you recall, we featured a clip of the band performing "Yer Circus" in June.
Now we're back with yet another song from their bitchin' SXSW performance at Spiro's. "The Rat" made its way onto the US Modern Rock chart and is a dirgey little number fraught with emotion and 80s guitars, both tasty elements, if you ask me. I sorta feel like I'm back at Theatre Gallery (in Dallas, if you knew it) in 1987 bein' all homeless, feelin' all teen angsty, and wonderin' if the singer is as cute offstage as he is on (but I wasn't a groupie, I swear!!). The band hits the road again on the 21st for some more dates with The Meat Puppets. Check them out if you can.
Anyway, it seems that the 17 year old in all of us should enjoy some of this Georgia badassery. So, without further ado jeunes et fils, "The Rat"...
this band is very, very underrated. they are amazing.
