I said 1963 in the video..please ignore that! It is a 1962, and a beautiful restoration of a car whose fortunes at introduction were not the best. It was under-appreciated at the time..but I think examination now proves that this car is really a classic. Perfect car, in my opinion!

  • OOH such a classic-beautiful! Those Chrysler Cars were some of the best designs! I love the power windows, too.

  • @JSneaker Hey, Jason! Yes indeed..it really is very nice...this Dodge and the companion Plymouth had some very interesting styling..and the Valiant and Lancer shared it too. I have a feeling it was a bit too different to be appreciated at the time. Now I think it's appreciated! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Hello, Jack! I have a nice collection of old car catalogs and brochures from the 50's on. Sadly I no longer have the Dodge or Plymouth ones from 1962. I wish manufacturers would re-think the "space-ship" styling of today's cars, and return to true classics. In my honest opinion, our former 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 was a beautiful example.

  • @JSneaker Hey, Jason! Cool...great to have old advertising...I have mostly ads from the time..and a laminating machine that really preserves the ad! I love the Ford Galaxie 500 of that time..nice, clean lines. I have trouble telling one new car from another with the "look alike" styling! Thanks! :) Jack

  • one clean machine.

  • @gtarz40ful It sure is clean...I seldom see this model, nevermind in this condition! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @EdVidz - Chrysler had acted on bad intel about Chevy downsizing their big cars. Exner was dead set against the release of these vehicles, as we other execs; but hotter heads prevailed and the cars were released anyway. With a paltry response, dealers demanded Exner's head on a stake, and eventually (CEO) Townsend gave into those demands in late 1961. Townsend then hired Elwood Engel from Ford.

  • @themamagoatshow From my materials, I've figured that there were two V8's offered...361 cubic inches for 305 horsepower, and a 413 cubic inch engine with 380 horsepower. Thanks! :) Jack

  • how much power did this have someone told me a lot but i still dont know????

  • @EdVidz Hey, Ed! I think Chrysler Corporation was more adventurous than most in terms of ground breaking styling..they got their hands burned with the Airflow, but that didn't stop their adventures, witness the Valiant and Lancer of this period. Exner sure had an influence on styling...expansive, optimistic...wish we had someone like him now! Thanks! :) Jack
