A brilliant live performance of The Move's 1967 hit. This was recorded at the Fillmore West in 1969 during their only American tour.
Carl Wayne, Roy Wood and Rick Price are singing here (Rick is singing Ace Kefford's part because Ace had left The Move by then). Bev Bevan doesn't sing but contributes with an amazing drum solo.
The whole Fillmore West performance has been officially released after just over 40 years! Prior to this, only this song and a cover of Nazz's 'Open My Eyes' were officially available (on the 'Anthology' compilation).
Perhaps the most underrated band in rock history. The Shazzam line up was an absolute beast of a band and this captures them in their prime. Fantastic.

@zfloid44 I would have thought their lack of success in the US was down to lack of promotion or something along those lines, but I can see your point of view, as much as I like the album.
There was a stereo version of the Move LP, but it must have been rarer than the mono version (either that or it was only available in mono in the US). The 2007 reissue of the album has stereo remixes of most of the songs, which sound a lot better to their original counterparts in my opinon.

@FinnMove As a Huge Move fan, and an American, I can say you're on the right track to their not being bigger here. In my opinion, the number one cause to that lack of a big break came from their Move LP. It came out too late. It was in MONO! and sounded somewhat dated by the time of its release. That's not an attack, just an explanation. yeah

Even the Beatles were warned that it is not easy to have a name by a foreign group.
My personal view is that the Move ( and also Roy Wood himself later by his own and
Wizzard ) were sounding too much British in an American taste. The Beatles and ELO created more commercial sound which was much more succesful. What is your opinion ?
